The Arctic wolf is a species of wolf which is located in Upper Canada, Alaska, and Greenland. The Arctic wolf is endangered because of its very fine pelt which is wanted by many hunters. It needs to be saved and put under hunters restriction before it becomes extinct forever.
The Arctic Wolf lives in the Arctic Tundra biome. Cold, vast and very white, the Tundra is a beautiful example of nature. However very little of the world's population ever actually lives there, or has ever even been there on a vacation. Its cold temperatures ward off most comfy suburban lifestyle. Even the people who do make the decision to live in this area, find it difficult because of the very limited amount of supplies brought up every month. The Arctic wolf though, doesn't have these problems. Its thick fur and white coat help it adapt to its environment and live comfortably. Food is not a challenge, with stealth the wolf hunts its prey, eating a fresh, nutritious meal, every night.
Endangered Species: Arctic Wolf
The Arctic tundra is extremely at risk right now for a multitude of reasons. The most well-known and discussed one currently is global warming. Over the course of the last 50 years or so, humans have become more and more careless with our use of fossil flues and other non-renewable resources and it's seriously harming the world as a whole, and more specifically, the Arctic The process of creating products and energy are emitting pollutants into our atmosphere, this is causing the overall temperature in the global to rise. Melting much of the ice in the Arctic damaging the habitats of many organisms.
Another reason is our need to hunt Arctic animals for their precious fur and other features. This is especially certain for the Arctic wolf in the way that my entire project is based upon it's endangered status. Unfortunately, hunters have begun to kill far to many Arctic animals causing a decline in both population and biome health. The decline is causing swells of increased population with other organisms such as primary consumers.
Interesting Facts About the Arctic Wolf
It has come to my attention that little to no work is being done on saving our beloved Arctic wolf. This has to stop. We must bring our focus to helping this poor animal. Over the last few decades, the world has become less and less concerned with our effect on the environment and how that affects our biomes, especially the Arctic tundra. It seems as though the people of our dear planet do not seem to notice, or simply do not care about our negative effect on the world. We continue to create massive landfills which are only forming unnatural mountains. If we ever hope to save the animals of our great white north, we must act now.
