What is League of Legends? It's an online Moba consisting of 2 teams made of 5 players. The object is to destroy objective and reach the team’s base and destroy their Nexus or "Point of command". It's also the most played online game in the world.
The League of Legends Championship Series or LCS is a professional League of Legends electronic sports competition run by Riot Games.
There are 2 LCS leagues, Europe and America, and in each league participate 8 best teams from regional server. LCS has a system where new challenger teams are given the opportunity to come and make their way to lcs by playing in promotion lcs tournaments. All games of the LCS are played live at Riot Games' studios in Los Angeles, United States and Cologne, Germany.
The best of 3 teams from each LCS league (NA and EU) has ticket to compete in the best lol event each season - World Championship.

Season 4 League of Legends World Championship (season 2014) was held in Korea where 16 teams from all over the world compete. Current world champs are Samsung Galaxy. According to numbers released by Riot Games, 27 million people watched this event.
