The next simple step to weight loss is customizing your eating out experience. What that means is you don’t have to order as a restaurant would have you order. Instead, you can tweak your food options a bit to create an experience that suits your diet plan.

How to Avoid Fats in Restaurants

It goes without saying that restaurant meals have an un-measureable amount of fat in them. Even if you order a dish with butter, you might get something with a substitute like margarine, so try to limit your menu to foods that you are absolutely surely you can eat.

You need to scan the menu so that you can come up with a meal that you can enjoy and yet watch your calories. Use some of these techniques to protect yourself from unnecessary fats or oils. When you’re served bread, remember to choose whole grain breads that are brown in color.

Here are some specific ideas you can do to make your eating out experience even if it is to McDonald’s, a learning experience.

The main thing about a diet food is that you order some greens, as in a salad without salad dressing, and a handful of protein to get you through without feeling hungry. On top of that, you want to avoid bread and stick to about 5 servings of carbs per day.

Make it a point to go with a friend and split an entrée’ with your friend. You can also keep the calories low by getting an appetizer instead of a full meal. Mix and match if you get hungry but do clear of the bread, potato or other white colored stuff. It is likely to be a carbohydrate. Overall, you want one meal to come out to no more than 200 cals, preferable 100 calories after you’ve mastered the art of calories counting.

While this might be embarrassing, you can use a smaller plate like the child’s plate to eat less and check for portion control. Another tip would be to parcel half the tip in a doggie bag before you order the entire entrée’.
Order half your plate with veggies. McDonald’s now has lots of salads to choose from. Try adding more salad and decrease the portion of the entrée’. This should offer you the right balance between a little bit of protein and vegetables.
