Yesterday, Google published an application on their market, Google Play. The official application of their new Android interface named Google Now. Google Now launcher was used only by their model Nexus 5 so far, but, from now, any other Nexus and Google Play edition devices can use the newest Android 4.4 KitKat. Other models still don’t support it.
Google Now launcher provides access to Google Now application by simply scrolling to the left, and it is possible to say “Ok Google” while on the homepage and it will start automatically. The new launcher brings us few other advantages like larger icons and new menu.
On the menu there are only applications, and widgets can be accessed by holding finger a bit longer on a homepage, in the same way when you want to change the background.
Many Android users want an interface like this for a long time, and it is possible that Google will provide this app for those who don’t use Nexus devices.
What I think about it is that they are preparing something new for their Nexus devices, that will be better than this version, so they are providing this to all the people just to make it common and available. They might be preparing the field for their new surprise, which will be great.
