iPhone release date is still a couple of months away at lest, according to media reports, but there is still a lot of excitement over the next flagship smartphone for Apple.
The iPhone 6 will compete with the HTC M8, a favorite among unconventional smartphone users, and the stunning Samsung Galaxy S5 that has all the works of a modern smartphone and is up to par with the industry standards for a top notch smartphone.
The iPhone 6 is expected to set new standards for smartphones and Apple has a record of creating a wave of revolution through its products. The Cupertino firm has a way of surpassing consumer expectations and building unique products that are fun,exciting and serve their purpose: the iPhone, iPad, and the iPad mini.
Recently, with the inroduction of the Android platform from Google, Apple has been losing marketshare to its Google counterpart. A strong rivalry between Android and iOS OS have emerged in the smartphone market and Apple has used a number of strategies to struggle in the battle for gaining consumers to its side.
The launch of a cheaper than usual phone, the iPhone 5c for low end markets like China have failed to gain momentum despite a deal with the local China Mobile carrier. Subsequently, Apple recently launched a Nokia like phone, an 8 GB variant of the iPhone 5c in Europe. It has yet to hit the U.S. market, but is expected to pick up some of the market share lost through the iPhone 5c.
The iPhone 6 also launches with a lot of expectations in retaining Apple's lead in the smartphone market. Though earlier reports said an June summer release was possible, emerging reports say that a release in September is more likely.
