As far back as 1810 when Bavarian Prince Ludwig, later King, got married with Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen was held a great celebration, which lasted five days. At the end of the celebration horse races were organized, and the place where they held the event was called Therese’s meadows. Since then, every year, at the same time horse races are held and from 1896 they began to raise the tents where they poured beer.
Today, Munich is host city of the world famous event. Visitors come from all over the world to celebrate the days of beer, to relax, enjoy and quench the thirst. Oktoberfest lasts for sixteen days, from the end of September to early October, and is visited by six to seven million people.
