Organizers estimate that some 350,000 people attended the Signal festival of light, which ran Oct. 16 through 19.
The final count — based on increased use of phone networks, public transportation and other factors — should be determined in November. Last year, some 250,000 people attended the festival although the initial estimate was higher. Organizers are however certain that the number will be higher than for the first year.
Saturday was the busiest day, as the wet and clammy weather of the previous two days cleared up. Pedestrian congestion could be seem at the entrances to Old Town Square and to the E:Merge videomapping at Michnův palác. The metro and trams between the main attractions were also jammed with people from Zítkovy sady to náměstí Míru.

“We could not even imagine such a success with spectators. The first year we had three years for preparation, but for the second we had only one year. The whole team worked to the fullest up to the final countdown. We would like to thank all thank our artists, partners and especially spectators. Without all these people there would not be a festival. Signal has had amazing feedback, and we will try again next year to take it a little further,” said Martin Pošta, the director of the festival.
A mobile application for the festival was used by 43,854 people. The app gave direction to the installations and other information.
The boat and ferry were used by some 5,000 people. Finally, in total the videomappings were shown 64 times.
