How do you deal with emotions? Do you have good emotional skills? What does it mean to deal with emotions?

Dealing with emotions. Emotions are such a vast field. And yet always something new.
Emotions are that thing that makes you do things. Or not. When you’re feeling good, you think that you could conquire the world. When you’re feeling bad, you think a lot of bad things.

Apart from the thing that emotions are strongly connected to hormones and chemical reactions there is something we should really discuss.

How to deal with emotions? That is not easy. For some it could even become an art.
We all feel a lot of things. We all are aware of what we are feeling in one moment or another but that is just a small part of the entire story. Some are more aware some are less.

It is not that simple. Emotions are pretty complexed. Like an entire science.
When big things happen in life you feel big things. For example when you fall in love. How do you feel then? And when you break up?

A lot of people treat with much more attention the bad things that happen to them and the bad feelings they experience. Instead of that, we should treat both bad and good emotional experiences equally. Think about it, is the intensity of feelings, different ones like falling in love and breaking up for example, the same?
We look the world with our own eyes. But that view is mixed up with a lot of emotions. If you’re feeling sad you might just see everything in a darker shade than usual. You probably had this experience didn’t you?
One huge part in this story is how to express the emotion we are feeling. Dealing with emotions is not just being aware of them. It’s also how we express them. It is also important to know when and how to do that. And what we are doing wrong or good.

A lot of people talk about the gut. A lot of people have this so called instinct that leads them through all of this. And many other things in life. That might mean they are like a “natural” type for dealing with emotions. A person with a singing talent will sing much better than the one with no talent at all for singing right?
It wouldn’t be correct to call this gut feeling a gift, or a talent. But the story is similar.

Dealing with emotions in a proper way is certainly something that could raise our quality of life. Then if you’re not a gut person, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to, or can’t work on acquiring these skills.
How do you deal with your emotions?
