Most commercials for fair care promise beautiful, shiny hair, but what is the real cost of that? This recipe for herbal hair rinse strengthens hair in a natural way and also boosts shine and nourishes the scalp without any side effects from harmful chemicals and parabens.

Most hear care products have the same problem, even those natural ones, that is the fact that they wash off the natural oils from our hair. Most shampoos contain substances that destroy silky, smooth hair and replace natural oils with chemical remains. This is a never-ending cycle and it can be very frustrating but other ways do exist.

Ingredients - Herbal Hair Rinse

• Nettle - 1/4 cup

• Horsetail Herb - 1/4 cup

• Dried basil - 3 Tablespoons

• Dried lavender - 4 Tablespoons

• Dried rosemary - 3 Tablespoons

• Apple cider vinegar - 2 or 3 cups

• Filtered water

How to prepare - Instructions

1. Put all dried herbs in a glass jar. Place a cap on the jar and shake the entire content to mix, or use a spoon to stir.

2. Fill your jar with apple cider vinegar approximately one inch from the top.

3. Keep your jar in a dark, cool location for 3-4 weeks. Shake the content every day for a few seconds. During the first few days, you will notice that some of the vinegar is absorbed by herbs. Pour some more vinegar into the jar, again, one inch from the top.

4. Leave herbs to infuse into the vinegar for 4 weeks, and then filter them out with cheesecloth or with a clean fabric. After that, line the sieve with a coffee filter and run everything through again.

5. Store the contents in a clean glass jar. Dilute the mixture with filtered water (one part). The concentration of vinegar will remain the same; however water will help bacterial and mold growth, so you shouldn't store the content pre-diluted with water.

How to Use It:

After you clean your hair as you always do, mix prepared herbal hair rinse and water in an empty jar or some other container. Below, I give you several instructions on how to mix and use herbal rinse for different hair types.

If you have short hair: 1/4 cup of water to 1/4 cup of infused vinegar.

For Shoulder-length hair: 1/2 cup of water to 1/2 cup of infused vinegar

For Long hair: 2/3 cup of water to 2/3 cup of infused vinegar

Pour the herbal rinse through your hair slowly. Move your head slowly from side to side and work your fingers through the hair and scalp, this will help you to reach all areas on your head.

You can leave the herb rinse on for a few minutes, or wash it out with water immediately.
