Thyme Herb can offer a lot of benefits for you.

The main purpose of Thyme is to be a spice in various dishes and it has a perfect aromatic flavor for soups, marinades, stews. Many people use it in their homemade spice blends.

People also use it as a natural remedy for various conditions, but if you use it as a remedy be careful because it is extremely potent and can be dangerous in high amounts. Most people use it for respiratory problems since Thyme is from the mint family.

Many sources about Thyme suggest that thyme oil should not be used internally and even leafs should not be used in large amounts.

Pregnant women should not use this herb (except as a culinary spice) and it should not be used on small children or babies.

Thyme herb can stimulate the thyroid gland which can change breathing patterns and heart rate. Rarely can cause an allergic reaction, but in most cases to those also allergic to rosemary.

Always dilute thyme essential oil before you use it on your skin because it can cause irritation or allergic reaction.

Thyme Facial Steam for Cough Problems

Thyme is often used as an expectorant, which can help a lot with various respiratory problems. I avoid to use it internally, but if you use it with a combination of other herbs as a facial steam to prevent congestion and as facial steam that will work fine.
